This Basic Life Support Training (BLS) course is available nationwide, and is ran as on on-site course for up to 12 delegates at a clients venue on a date of your choice.
The training rooms needs to be large enough to accommodate all your delegates with adequate room to practice CPR.
Introduction
This is a short course in Basic Life Support and is ideal for those looking to gain basic first aid knowledge and skills. The aim of the course is to enable all students to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, and how to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.

Suitable for all clinical staff and clinical students working in:
- NHS hospitals (large hospitals and community hospitals)
- Private hospitals
- Clinics
- Nursing homes
- Universities with clinical students
- Social care – care staff
*A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.
Course Syllabus
For the duration of this course delegates will learn the following:
- Dealing with a casualty who is unconscious and not breathing normally (Primary Assessment)
- Top to toe survey (Secondary Assessment)
- Recovery/safe airway position
- Dealing with a casualty who’s unconscious and breathing normally
- CPR
- AED – defibrillation awareness/demonstration
- Choking mild and severe
Assessment & Certification
Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual ongoing throughout the course and issue a certificate of attendance.
